Be careful…these might make them a little “too happy” if you know what I mean. 🙂 Be safe, and have fun!

Drink: Triple Dog Frozen Strawberry Mint Julep. Simple and delightfully refreshing for summer!

2.5 oz Triple Dog Irish Whiskey
1.25 oz Monin® Strawberry Syrup (or homemade – see recipe*)
1 cup of ice

Directions: Blend the above ingredients. Garnish with fresh mint bouquet (don’t forget to slap it!) and strawberry. Enjoy!

(*For making homemade strawberry syrup: Mix one pint of sliced strawberries with 1.5 cups sugar. Place in the fridge for a day or so; the sugar draws the syrup out of the berries and creates a vibrant red and flavorful syrup. Strain the syrup into a glass jar (save the remaining strawberries for ice cream or dessert!)

Drink: Milam & Greene Whiskey PORT RYE MANHATTAN. Give a nod to the Statue of Liberty and New York this 4th of July as you watch the fireworks with a delicious Texas-based Milam & Greene Whiskey Port Rye Manhattan cocktail in hand.

2 oz. Milam & Greene Port Finished Rye
½ oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash black walnut bitters
1 cocktail cherry for garnish

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a tall mixing glass with ice and stir for 20 seconds while ice dilutes the spirits. Strain liquid into serving glass, preferably a coupe or nick & nora style glassware that has a stem, and garnish with a cherry.

Drink: Home of the Brave. Refreshing, a little sweet, but also with a kick for your adventurous side. Recipe compliments of Dread River Distilling.

1.5oz Dread River Blue Agave Spirit (strawberry infused for the adventurous)
3/4oz Pineapple juice
3/4oz Strawberry purée
3/4oz Lime juice
3-4 Jalapeño slices (depending on heat)
4 Sprigs of cilantro

Add all ingredients to shaker tin, fill tin with ice, shake until outside of tin is frosted, strain into your favorite rocks glass, top with ice, and garnish with any or all of the ingredients used (strawberry, pineapple chunk or frond, lime, jalapeño slice, cilantro).

Drink: “Beer”

Go to your fridge, grab a beer and hand it to the person that asked requested it. If they want to discuss the Bud Light controversy, gently, but firmly ask them to leave. Return to your party and get ready to continue the good times without the drama!

Enjoy your holiday weekend and be safe! Special thanks to Maverick Distilling for sending me these great recipes that I hope will bring plenty of smiles to your guests!
