The summer is here which means, blockbuster hit movies are rolling out. May being a nice little tease of whats to come this summer. Here are five movies to check out this upcoming month.
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness– 6th
Marvel will dive even deeper in the multiverse with this one and I can’t wait. We got a taste of whats to come in Spider-Man: No Way Home this past year and I feel the title of this film is exactly what we will experience, MADNESS. Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Dr. Stephen Strange as he looks for help to contain the multiverse and turns to the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). You can’t ask for a better film to kick off your summer!
2. Firestarter– 13th
Zac Efron as a DILF?! I’m sold! This sci-fi horror flick is based on a Stephen King novel; about a girl named Charlie with the ability to turn fire into a weapon. When an incident occurs, Charlie is being hunted by a federal agency and she decides to take a stand to protect her and her family.
3. Downton Abbey: A New Era– 20th
The much anticipated sequel inspired by the hit British television show is finally here. With the return of the entire Downton cast and an early theatrical release in the UK, viewers say we can expect an emotional second installment. The Crawley family returns and takes a journey to France to uncover the mystery of dowager countess’ inherited villa.
4. Top Gun: Maverick- 27th
It’s been over 30 years since Top Gun was released and now Tom Cruise returns as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. With Cruise at the helm of this 80s classic series, you can definitely expect action, emotion, and a thrill just as the first movie brought us. While returning familiar faces like Val Kilmer, you can expect some fresh and new characters to this sequel like Miles Teller, Glen Powell, and Jon Hamm. With a month filled with sequels, this one is long overdue.
5. The Bob’s Burgers Movie– 27th
The hit animated show Bob’s Burgers is making its way to the big screen. When a ruptured water main creates a sinkhole in front of Bob’s Burgers, Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat. The kids try and solve a mystery that could save the summer.
