5 Movies To See In April

  1. Morbius– 1st

Morbius was once again delayed from January to this upcoming month so fingers crossed that it actually hits theaters. Here’s what I said about the film back in January. “We’ve long-awaited for the release of this Marvel/Sony project. Delayed due to the pandemic, Morbius kicks starts Marvel 2022 for us. Jared Leto stars as Michael Morbius, a biochemist who tries to cure himself of a rare blood disease. When his experiment goes wrong he infects himself with a form of vampirism. Will this be the perfect way to kick off the new year with Marvel? We shall see!”

2. Sonic the Hedgehog 2– 8th

If there was one game I always played growing up it was definitely Sonic. I enjoyed the first movie so much that I’ve been counting down the days for this one. So many endless possibilities with this franchise with all the different characters from the video game. We get introduced to Tails and Knuckles who is voiced by Idris Elba. Yes Jim Carrey is returning as the evil Dr. Robotnik as well as the rest of the cast from the first film.

3. Ambulance- 8th

The ingredients of an awesome Michael Bay film is explosions, great action sequences, and big name actors; looks like Bay has cooked up a nice one once again. Amublance stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen (The Matrix: Resurrections) two brothers who team up for a bank robbery. When things go south the two have to figure out a way to outrun the law while keeping their hostages alive.

4. Everything Everywhere All At Once- 8th

I have to say this movie is one of my favorites so far of 2022. Such a unique take to an action film with subliminal messages hidden within. The synopsis doesn’t do this movie justice but you really can’t explain it, you just have to watch it! To set it up for you, Everything Everywhere All At Once is about a Chinese-American woman played by Michelle Yeoh (Crazy Rich Asians) who can’t seem to finish her taxes. Also starring Jenny Slate and Jamie Lee Curtis this movie will keep you entertained from start to finish.

5. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore– 15th

The series has been very underwhelming for me but I’m a big Harry Potter fan and I’m invested so I have to keep it rolling. It doesn’t help that the studio recasted one of the fan favorite Johnny Depp due to the allegations of abuse. With Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange) stepping in the role of Grindelwald, Warner Bros might be scratching their heads a bit behind on this move if the movie doesn’t have a successful opening weekend.

Other movies to check out this month: Father Stu (13th), The Bad Guys (22nd), The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (22nd)
