With the State Fair of Texas open and ready for all to enjoy you need to remember something….CASH! This year’s regular tickets sit at $25 a ticket for adults and $15 for kids. The money starts to add up quickly. Especially if you’re into eating at the fair, and taking in one or six rides. 🙂
After some digging, we found a couple ways you can save some money when you’re headed to the fair.
SAVE SOME COIN AT THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS
**If you bring five canned food items, you’ll grab admission to the fair for just $5. The donations go directly to the North Texas Food Bank! Good on you!!!!
**On Tuesday and Thursday, the State Fair is doing “Dr Pepper Value Days.” You can get a ticket online for only $10 bucks. Heads up – you’ll need to be a Big Tex insider in order to get the promo code for the deal. You can sign up at BIGTEX.COM/Insider
**If your parents or HOT MUCH older boyfriend is over 60, you can get half price admission on Thursdays for just $5 bucks. Look at you dating an older guy!
**If you wait until after 5pm any night of the week, general admission drops down to child prices…no matter how old you are.
**If you are retired / active military or a veteran, both you and your family members get $5 off weekdays and $7 Saturday and Sunday when you show valid ID at the gate or online. Thanks for your service!
**First responders also get a discount! You can save $5 on weekdays and $7 off on Saturday and Sunday when you flash your valid ID when you grab tickets. Thanks for everything you do too! We love ya!
**Check out coupons on the tray liners and in bags at McDonald’s! Some coupons enable you to save $5 on weekdays and $7 on Saturday and Sunday. Mmmm cheeseburgers!
The Fair also announced that food and ride coupons from the last two years would be honored and can be used for purchases this year. See the Fair for more details.
