Icy roads were to blame for a massive pile-up on I35W this morning in Fort Worth. Due to the conditions, cars began slamming into each other around 6:30am this morning. Several people were trapped in their cars in the brutal cold with no heat, as they waited for police to offer assistance.
Cars driving east bound started recording video on their cell phones as the damage was being done, documenting what would be a deadly commute for many Texans.
When all was said and done, Fort Worth Police confirmed 6 people lost their lives and their last count had 36 people being taken to area hospitals after 133 vehicles lost control and slammed into each other due to icy conditions.
We offer our condolences to all of those involved in this morning’s accident.
We’ve compiled a few videos of the accident that showed the moments during and after the event that involved somewhere between 50 and 75 cars and trucks.
