Teens Serve Water to the Homeless in the Summer Heat

The Water Wagon rolled down Broadway in Knoxville, Tennessee in the summer heat. Six young people ranging from seventh graders to rising college freshman manned the homemade red wagon and giant aluminum pot full of water as a part of the Win Our World Urban Ministry. WOW is a summer youth ministry that for seven weeks of summer hosts young people from Knoxville as as far as Minnesota to work on community projects with this being its 14th year. Each week, from daily to sometimes less, WOW youth walk the huge pot with two ladles and three sleeves of 16-ounce plastic cups in their little red wagon. The 18-inch-tall pot is filled three-fourth full of water and ice. Sometimes the pot comes back slightly still full but others it comes back empty. The Water Wagon is just one of the projects WOW does each summer to help its youth grow in faith as well as leadership.
