Top Movies To See in Theaters This October

  1. Joker– 4th

A lot of controversy coming behind this one, but people are excited to see how Joaquin Phoenix will portray one of DC’s darkest and demented villain. Some critics are calling for an Oscar nomination for Phoenix, others think it could possibly be too dark and disturbing. You can expect a big turn out from the DC fans for this one but if you love a good dark and suspenseful thriller film, Joker just might be for you.

2. Dolemite Is My Name– 4th

Eddie Murphy, Wesley Snipes, Mike Epps, Keegan Michael Key, and Craig Robinson; I mean you couldn’t ask for a better lineup for a movie like this! Eddie Murphy plays Rudy Ray Moore, an iconic pimp in the 70s who held the name Dolemite. This is the first movie for Murphy in 3 years so he’s returning to film in a big way. Best thing about this movie is you can enjoy it at home on your couch. The movie can be streamed on Netflix early in October.

3, Gemini Man– 11th

You got older Will Smith fighting younger Will Smith, I’m sold on this one! The movie is about an assassin being hunted by his younger and faster cloned self. Based on the trailer you can expect a lot of action packed crazy special effect scenes.

4. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil– 18th

I absolutely loved the first Maleficent so I was pretty excited when they announced a sequel for this. You can enjoy this movie with the entire family. The movie picks up right where they left off five years ago. Aurora gets engaged to Prince Philip and Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) seems threaten by Queen Ingris (Michelle Pfieffer). Maleficent is taking on the Queen and not only has to protect Aurora, but her magical land as well.

5. Zombieland: Double Tap– 18th

It’s the sequel we knew would come but just didn’t know when. In 2009 Zombieland was that fun bloody action film that you just loved. With the wits and humor from Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg, the entire crew is back fighting the undead with their counterparts Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. Take the whole squad to the theaters, sit back and have a great time with this one!

Other movies to look out for in October: The Addams Family (11th), Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (15th), JoJo Rabbit (18th), Black and Blue (25th)
